Most people are familiar with Grant Holt as the target man that spearheaded Norwich’s attack for many years.But now, the 37-year-old is a professional wrestler training with the prestigious Knight family that WWE legend Paige comes from.2

Holt, who goes by the name The Incredible Holt,is signed with World Association of Wrestling and won a 40-man Royal Rumble in his first-ever appearance.Appearing on talkSPORT with Jim White, Holt revealed he is running a wrestling event for charity in June at Carrow Road – home of his former club Norwich – with former top WWE stars Mick Foley and Billy Gunn set to be apart of the event.At talkSPORT studios, White couldn’t help but ask “it’s not serious, is it?” which in other words translates to – it’s not real, is it? Holt didn’t miss a beat before responding: “Well, everyone asks me this and there’s a guy who came for me on Twitter. One of the guys I was wrestling was a big Canadian called Bruce Steel and he’s seven-foot and 20-stone. This guy is basically giving him some stick saying ‘look at you, you’ve got fur boots on’ this that and the other.And so I said to the guy ‘Look, get yourself over next week, stand in the middle of the ring and he’ll come in there, swing off the ropes and give you a closeline – you’re more than welcome to join in – and then you tell me whether it’s fake or not when he hits you. Or, if he suplexes you off the top rope.2

“Funnily enough, I never got a response and funnily enough, he never turned up to the show! Listen, if you wanna do a suplex and go six-foot in the air and land on you back, you’ll know what it’s like to come down.White then said: “Right, so there is a degree of seriousness about it, obviously. A large degree!”As Holt accepted in the chat, the results of wrestling are, of course, predetermined but the dangers of the show they put on and the injuries superstars suffer all the time are very, very real.Will Grant Holt pop up in WWE when they hit British shores in May?
