Much will be made of the Messi-effect there is barely any stopping the Argentine wizard when he is in full flight while, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho could come back to haunt their former club. But Liverpool, with PFA Player of the Year Virgil van Dijk, boast the best defensive record in England and have an attacking superpower of their own; the three-pronged attack of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, who could be passed fit to play after a muscle injury. And Higginbotham believes the Reds have a very real chance to cause an upset in Spain.I think Liverpool have got a fantastic opportunity, he said on Wednesdays Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.Obviously you look at Messi and Suarez and you cant defend against them individually, its got to be a collective effort.Liverpool will have their hands full at the Nou Camp2

But I personally think Liverpool are one of the best counter-attacking teams in Europe, if not the best. And they really can cause Barcelona problems on the counter-attack. We know how high Barcas full-backs play and if they can drag the likes of Pique into the wide areas then Salah and Mane will think theyve got a real opportunity.Theyve got to defend well but I think Liverpool can get a result.
